We first discovered this W123 a couple of years ago. It was a one owner car that had been stored in a West London garage for over 20 years. When we were finally able to purchase it, we were amazed by its condition. Having been sold new in London, where the roads are rarely salted, then stored away in a dry garage, it was completely rust free and original. What’s more, the velour upholstery had had seat covers on from new, so were in perfect condition – you simply never find velour seats in this condition.
We recommissioned the car in 2021, rebuilding the cylinder head, fitting a stainless exhaust, rebuilding the fuel system, attending to the brakes and fitting new tyres. The second keeper has enjoyed it for two years and we were pleased to be able to acquire it again.
The body on this 123 is exceptional. Underneath there is no corrosion and no previous repairs. The Champagne Gold paintwork is in lovely order. The interior, as previously mentioned, is spectacular.
All in all, this is an ultra-original, low-owner, beautifully preserved W123 that has been thoroughly recommissioned. It is so hard to find cars like this today. A really delightful example.
