A truly exceptional 123 coupé, having covered just 59k miles from new and subject to a total restoration in 2019 by model specialist.
First registered at the very beginning of 1983, this 230CE was specified with Petrol Blue/Green paintwork, black cloth trim and Zebrano wood. It features an electric sunroof, manual windows and those attractive, body-coloured wheel trims.
The car was purchased new by a Mr Stan Jones of Stan Jones Plant Hire for his 50th birthday. He kept the car until his retired in ’95 when he sold it to a long-term customer, Mr Barrod who kept the car until 2006 but used it sparingly, which accounts for the low mileage today. After a couple of shorter-term owners, the coupé found its way to W123 World where it was subject to a complete restoration.
Since the restoration was completed in 2019 it has belonged to a retired couple who have used it on high days and holidays and covered just 4000 miles.
All books and manuals, history file and photos from the restoration. Full service history and HPI clear.
This 230CE remains in exceptional condition throughout, which is extremely hard to find in 123 coupés. The body and brightwork are superb, all the hard-to-find rubber seals have been replaced and the polished wheel trims centre matching Continental tyres.
The interior is in beautiful, original condition, evidently preserved by its low miles.
The engine bay is beautifully detailed and the engine itself has benefitted from a full top-end overhaul and new timing chain as a precaution. Underneath it is nicely finished and all the braking and suspension components have been renewed.
On the road it is a pleasure to drive with lively performance and a smooth, refined drive. The 230 may have come below the 280 in the pecking order but because it is a considerably more modern engine, it is, for many, the pick of the bunch.
A rare opportunity to purchase a fully restored, low mileage 123 coupé in superb order throughout.
