A very pretty, left-hand drive 123 coupe in great condition that’s ready to drive and enjoy.

 

Buying W123s of all types today really comes down to two things. Firstly, and most importantly, the condition of the bodyshell, then the condition of the interior. These are the things that are expensive and hard to sort out. Sadly, most 123s today have rotten shells and worn and heavily sun-damaged interiors, even if the cars look okay from ten paces. As a result we stock less of these cars than we would like.

 

So, it was a lovely surprise to find this German-market 230CE. Finished in Surf Blue with tan cloth interior, it has the four-speed manual gearbox, manual windows and electric sunroof. Becker stereo, switchable town and country horns and alloy ‘Mexican hat’ alloy wheels.

 

Although first registered in Germany, since 1997 the Mercedes was Spanish registered and lived on the island of Tenerife until it was imported to the UK in 2019.

 

As a result of spending the majority of its years away from the British weather and road salt, this 230CE is in amazing condition underneath with no corrosion or previous repairs, which is how we love to find them. The Surf Blue paintwork is bright and very presentable. The interior is lovely and suggests that this car has been garaged, it is in lovely original condition. No dash cracks, nice woodwork, lovely clean cloth upholstery and carpets, original Becker radio.

 

Drives really well - fun to drive and very lively with the manual gearbox – feels very tight and together, it is a car that has evidently been well maintained over the last 40 years. 173t KM recorded, which only equates to around 107,000 miles.

 

Just serviced and recent MoT with no advisories. Note that this car is now eligible to be changed over to Historic tax class, and will therefore be ULEZ and MoT exempt too.

 

Comes with both left traffic (fitted) and right traffic headlamps (boxed in the boot).
