Without question one of the best and most original W123s that we have ever seen. This ’83 230E has been in one family ownership from new (father and son) and covered just 23,400 miles since it rolled off the Sindelfingen production line.

 

Finished in Thistle Green metallic with matching green cloth interior. Its specification includes a five-speed manual gearbox, alloy wheels, headlamp wash/wipe, electric roof and electric front windows.

 

The gentleman who purchased this new was in the armed forces, stationed in West Germany. He ordered the car, to UK specification, whilst serving there, then brought it back to the UK and registered it here one year later in 1984.

The car remained in his ownership throughout his life, always garaged and sparingly used, until his passing. His son inherited to the car and maintained his father’s care of the car until we acquired it recently.

 

The car comes with full service history, starting with the original bill of sale (32,585DM) and correspondence with MB in Paderborn. The service book contains 11 stamps and there is a folder of supporting bills and paperwork. There is a typed out history of everything that has ever been done to the car from new. Recent tyres, battery, fuel pump, injectors and brakes.

 

Having been kept inside and so little used throughout its 40 year life, this W123 is in absolutely incredible condition throughout. The paintwork is original, zero corrosion. The interior is the freshest we have ever seen with zero fade and absolutely no signs of wear. Original right down to the Blaupunkt radio cassette.

 

With the five-speed manual gearbox, the car has a lovely long-legged top gear perfect for motorway cruising, and is fun to drive.

 

In summary, one of the best preserved, most original W123s around. A truly exceptional example looking for a fastidious new owner.
