A very special R107 380SL with just 25,084 miles from new.
Finished in the fabulously period colours of Champagne Gold with contrasting Manganese Brown hardtop, hood and Brazil Brown Sportscheck trim accented with Zebrano wood.
The car was purchased new by the McGuiness family on 27th May 1983. The McGuiness family kept the car until May 1996, at which point the mileage was just 18,740. Woking Motors then sold the car to the professional golfer, Neil Coles, who kept the car until 2020. It has had one keeper since who knew Mr Coles.
The car was exhibited at Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands in 2013 as an exceptional example of the marque.
As you might expect with such low mileage, this SL is in exceptional condition throughout and highly original. The bodywork and brightwork are in beautiful condition.
It is evident that this car has been garaged from new as there is zero UV damage and the interior is as bright as the day it left the factory. Original hood in lovely order.
The car comes with a lovely history file including bills for work, servicing, books and a letter from the original owners.
Note, this SL will be eligible for historic vehicle status, and therefore free road tax, MoT exemption and ULEZ exemption from April 1st 2024.
This is the first time this car has been available for sale on the open market since 1996. A truly exceptional R107 SL with extremely low mileage. In short, a collector’s dream.
