This 123 Coupé has been subject to a full restoration by W123 World and features in the highly regarded 2014 W123 book by Martin Buckley and Mark Cosovich.

Sold new in October 1984, this 230CE was specified with the classic combination of Astral Silver paintwork contrasted by a blue cloth interior; electric windows front and rear, electric sunroof, front armrest, Becker Mexico and alloy wheels.

The service book shows the car was well-serviced throughout its early life. By 2008 the car was sold by Charles Ironside (by now with 75,100 miles), described as having ‘led a very cherished existence and has also been garaged all its life. The car is totally corrosion free and is in outstanding condition throughout… Probably the best 123 Coupe available today.’

Not long afterwards the Coupé was acquired by W123 World, who set about restoring what was evidently already an extremely good car. Cosmetically and mechanically the car was brought back to new condition. In the W123 book it describes the car as being ‘restored using the very last new chrome trim and glass available from the Classic Centre in Stuttgart.’

Since restoration the car has had two owners. The first has the car serviced by Mercedes of Giffnock, then in 2023 it went back to W123 World for a major service and has barely been used since.

Comes with original books and a substantial history file.

Eligible to change to Historic tax class with immediate effect as soon as it is registered in the next keeper’s name, so will be tax and MoT exempt and ULEZ exempt.

For sale at significantly less than the cost of restoring one of these beautiful cars today, this is an opportunity to own one of the best 123 Coupés there is.
