A truly unique car. This ’84 W126 has covered just 8,846 kilometres from new.

Supplied new in Paris, France (its original ‘75’ black plates come with the car), it was finished in Nautic Blue metallic with Mushroom leather upholstery, and very nicely specified with automatic climate control, Becker Mexico, cruise control, alloy wheels, Zebrano wood, rear reading lights and electric windows.

We understand that its sole owner, a successful baker, hardly used the car, then in 1994 parked the car in his garage only for it to see the light of day again in 2023 when he passed away and his family dissolved his estate.

We have recommissioned the car, servicing it, rebuilding the fuel system and fitting new tyres (though we have kept the original Michelins it was fitted with new). The climate control has been attended to and is working well. In fact, surprisingly little was required to bring the car back to life.

With a fresh MoT, with no advisories, the 280 was registered in the UK.

As of next year this car will be eligible for historic vehicle status and be exempt from tax, MoT and ULEZ.

As you might expect from a car that has covered the equivalent of 5000 miles since it was made and been kept inside, this W126 has zero corrosion, wear or fade. It is as fresh as you can find one of these cars.

The grain on the steering wheel is as crisp as new, the leather soft and supple, the tool kit remains inside its plastic wrapper and all factory paint marks are visible on the fixings underneath.

This is without doubt a ‘museum quality’ early W126 with lovely colours and spec. And it must be one of the lowest mileage examples in existence.
