A beautiful example of the ever desirable 560SEC. Finished in Astral Silver with black leather interior. This car has had substantial recent expenditure by its doting last owner, addressing all the known weak spots of this model.
Bruno Sacco’s two-door design of the big W126 chassis was an exercise in effortless elegance; a design classic that has remained untouched by time or fashion. The enlarged 560 engine was introduced during the facelift of 1986 to ensure that these supreme GT cars remained the number one choice for tycoons to F1 stars.
First registered in January 1988, this SEC was fully specified as all 560 versions were, plus it has the desirable ‘822’ option code denoting enhanced power output for the 560, making this the most powerful 300bhp version.
Purchased by its last owner in 2017, it has undergone a program of refurbishment, starting with the mechanical aspects at an SEC specialist. This included replacement of the timing chain and guides, replacement of the valve stem seals along with a rebuild of the self-levelling suspension, transmission service along with replacement seals and air conditioning overhaul.
Next came a comprehensive overhaul of the body at a well renowned restoration house, finding all hidden corrosion and correctly rectifying. This work is accompanied by all paperwork and a full photographic record of the work carried out, which allows the quality of the work to be seen.
All receipts for all the recent work come with the car. There is also record of a speedometer change (85k miles recorded), so the actual mileage of the car is 110k miles. HPI clear.
Thanks to the recent investment this 560 drives as it should, with the power and waft that these cars are renowned for. The body is in super condition, unmarked wheels wear recent matching tyres and the interior in lovely, original order throughout.
An ideal SEC for the buyer who’s looking for a ready-to-go car in fantastic condition that, unlike many, has had the required investment. A beautiful car in subtle colours and with the brutish appeal of the full-fat 560 engine.
