A beautiful, final-year R107 300SL finished in Signal Red with Mushroom leather trim.

 

Sold new in March 1989 by Greenoaks of South Croydon to a gentleman in Surrey, this 300SL was well specified with leather trim, rear seats, outside temperature gauge, cruise control and heated seats. Plus, of course, the factory hard top.

 

Today, the SL has 101k miles from new backed up by a full service history with 22 stamps in the service book. 5 owners – the last 9 years and the previous 8 years. HPI clear.

We have just carried out a significant works on the car, including a new, fully reconditioned transmission, new water pump, injectors, exhaust, ignition components, full service, plus a thorough inspection of the bodyshell and restoration where required with a full photographic record of the work carried out.

 

The Signal Red paintwork is in superb condition, as is the body’s brightwork and hard top. The hood is the original and appears to be little used as it’s in great condition.

The wheels are in excellent order and will be fitted with four new tyres.

The interior is in lovely original condition.

Importantly, for one of these cars, the underside is in superb condition, free of corrosion or sub-standard repairs.

 

On the road this SL is a delight and drives exactly as they should.

 

In summary, a thoroughly prepared and very well-sorted 300SL from the final year in classic colours with a nice specification. Very sensible mileage (sub 3000 per year), a great history and in lovely condition throughout.
