A beautiful, completely original two-owner 190E 2.0.
This 190E is exactly the sort of car we like to find; utterly original, completely corrosion-free and in lovely condition throughout.
First registered in November 1990 to Peter Krug GmbH of Bietigheim-Bissingen, near Stuttgart, this 190E 2.0 auto was specified with Pearl Grey metallic paintwork with matching grey cloth trim, Becker Europa radio, fire extinguisher, rear headrests and full length console.
Krug owned the Mercedes until 2002, when it was driven over from Germany and sold in the UK. The second owner used the car until 2008 when it was put into dry storage and only emerged this year when we acquired it. Thanks to the dry, dark conditions it was stored in the car was perfectly preserved.
The car has all its original books & manuals, German registration card and a full Mercedes service history until 152,500km, comprising of 17 main dealer stamps and accompanying bills. Interestingly for the first few tears it was taken back to the factory for servicing until they started using a main agent in Bietigheim-Bissingen.
Since acquiring the car we have carried out a major recommission. The cylinder head was removed, rebuild and the head gasket replaced as a precaution – the engine was in perfect condition inside. The brakes have been rebuilt with new calipers, hoses, discs and pads as required. All fluids and filters have been replaced including the transmission and differential, plus new ignition components. All four tyres are brand new.
The car appears to retain all its original paintwork and has zero corrosion. As the photos hopefully show, this is a very nice 190E.
The underside is excellent; no previous repairs, no rot, no welding.
The interior is in similarly superb order. No seat wear, superb woodwork and completely original. It is in remarkable condition.
Given the rest of the car and the recent work we have carried out, it is no surprise that this 190E drives absolutely beautifully. It has the tightness of a new car. There are no rattles, squeaks or any other untoward noises and the 2-litre engine provides fuss-free eager performance through the silky-smooth 4-speed auto.
In summary a beautifully preserved, unmolested 2-owner 190E. Fully recommissioned by ourselves and ready to go for its next owner.
