A superb example of the much sought after 560SEC. An icon of the 80s that offered sophisticated GT motoring with muscle under the bonnet. It was the car of choice for F1 drivers to CEOs.
This 1990 example, finished in Diamond Blue metallic with grey leather, was sold new by Normand of Mayfair to Lady Bernstein, wife of Sidney Bernstein, founder of Granada TV.
560SECs were, unlike the rest of the MB range, comprehensively equipped as standard with only a few options. This car was additionally specified with heated/orthopaedic seats, driver’s airbag and ASR traction control. The Becker Mexico stereo remains in place and a modern alarm/immobiliser has been fitted to replace the original Scorpion.
102k miles from new backed up by a full service history comprised of 31 stamps and a folder of invoices detailing the work carried out over the last 20 years. Crucially the car has been scrupulously maintained and all the key jobs have been carried out including rear window removal, timing chain and valve stem seals. The headlining – a common weakness on these cars – has been correctly replaced by D-Class.
All original books and manuals come with the car, old MoTs and a copy of Classic & Sportscar magazine where this car was featured in 2006.
Lovely condition throughout and drives exactly as it should.
A beautifully maintained example of the most desirable model of SEC.
