A fabulous short wheelbase W463 300GE, finished in Impala brown metallic with cloth trim, with only 60k miles from new.
Derived from Steyr’s military vehicle, Mercedes first sold the G in civilian form in 1979 – a no-nonsense, go anywhere utility vehicle built to the highest possible standards. But as the 90s followed the 80s, the G started to become gentrified and more civilised. It was a sweet spot between the bare bones early cars and the conspicuous ‘bling’ of today’s models.
This ’91 300GE has the straight-six M103 petrol engine found in other Mercedes of the era, with an automatic gearbox, electric windows, alloy wheels and air conditioning.
This example was supplied new in Japan and imported into the UK in 2017. This is why this example is in such fabulous, rust-free condition today. Unfortunately, most UK-supplied Gs are riddled with rust, whereas this dry climate car is in beautiful condition both outside and underneath – perfect original rear corners and damper mounts.
The paintwork is in exceptional condition and is nigh on unmarked. The original alloy wheels were matching Yokohama all terrain tyres. The underside and under-bonnet area are very clean with no corrosion.
Inside, the trim is in superb order, no wear to the cloth seats and recently refurbished Zebrano woodwork.
LED headlamps provide a considerably improved light output, and the stereo has been upgraded and features a Blaupunkt Valencia with Bluetooth.
Previously supplied by ourselves, and has been superbly maintained and always garaged by its last owner.
An opportunity to buy a low mileage, well-sorted W463 in beautiful condition and, in our opinion, the coolest colour!
