A real slice of the early 90s. This lovely ’91 500SE – rare being a short-wheelbase 500 – has some period style modifications making it, in our opinion, a super-cool car.

Finished in Pajett Red metallic with grey leather, it has a lovely spec including air conditioning, cruise, electric front seats, heated front and rear seats and rear reading lamps.

In addition, it has brand new AMG Aero style Maxilite 8x17 alloys with new tyres, Bilstein/H&R suspension, colour-coded trim, a custom exhaust (still quiet but a bit more burble) and a Nardi wood-rim steering wheel.

The paintwork has just been machine polished and gleams, highlighting what lovely condition the bodywork is in. It’s very good underneath too.

The interior is in excellent condition. This car has evidently been garaged for most of its life as there is no UV damage – no peeling wood, dash cracks or faded trim. Even the instrument needles remain lovely and orange. The leather seats are immaculate with no signs of wear.

Recent work, in addition to the above, includes new brake calipers and hoses, a service, and new radio speakers.

Recent MoT with no advisories and, of course, HPI clear. Its manuals and folder are with the car and a folder of history.

On a J registration, it is one of the last W126s made. A car, which for many, was the definitive S-Class. Throw in some period, AMG-style modifications and you have a great-looking classic cruiser.
