This unusually specified W140 is in lovely condition having covered just 54k miles from new backed up by a complete and detailed service history.
Supplied on the 1st of August 1993 by John Tallis MB of Bath, this 300SE is a first generation W140, identifiable by its amber indicators. It is unusual as it has the rarely seen cloth upholstery, manually adjustable seats and was originally supplied with steel wheels covered by the traditional MB disc wheel trims. There is a real appeal in a W140 in such a pared down form. That said, it is not without all luxuries, featuring automatic climate control, cruise control along the full options list below.
The last owner has added the 18in Eltanin alloy wheels, freshly refurbished and shod with matching Goodyear tyres, but the original steels and wheel trims come with the car should the next owner want them. A Bosal removable towbar was also fitted in 2015.
All books and manuals come with the car including the service book showing a full service history. In addition to a folder full of bills there is a hand-written log detailing every aspect of work carried out on the car over the last ten years. Recent work has included a suspension rebuild with new springs and damper, a new head gasket, transmission fluid and filter and an air conditioning overhaul.
The car is in great condition throughout with very good bodywork, the underside is in excellent order and the interior is in exceptional, unmarked condition. With all the recent work and low mileage the car drives beautifully.
One of the last of Mercedes high quality cars and an extremely comfortable and refined driving experience. This is a very well cared for and maintained example.
