A beautiful, early W124 300E in fabulously 80s Champagne Gold with just two owners from new.

 

First registered in November 1986, this 300E was finished in Champagne Gold metallic with light brown cloth interior. It has 15-hole alloys, original Blaupunkt stereo, electric windows and sunroof, plus a period Lorinser rear spoiler.

 

The first owner, a Mr Parrish, bought the car from Waterhouse of Chelmsford. It was his pride and joy that he always garaged and kept until his death in 2016. The second owner was the gentleman who had serviced the car for Mr Parrish.

 

Having been continuously garaged and lovingly cared for, this W124 is in beautiful and extremely original condition throughout. The body has no rust and is largely original paint. The Champagne Gold paint is a great period colour and is in excellent condition with a fantastic shine.

The interior is similarly in lovely original condition, retaining its original Blaupunkt and MB ribbed mats.

The engine bay and underside are both very clean indeed.

 

In our workshop we have just carried out a full top end refresh on the engine, together with a gearbox service and four new tyres, plus anything else required.

 

All original books and manuals including the service book. Full history with 21 services recorded and a file containing supporting bills, old MoT certificates and registration documents. Just serviced by ourselves.

 

The 300E was the top model of the 124 range at the time and certainly the most satisfying to drive with its smooth and potent six-cylinder engine. At 36 years old, it’s no wonder that early W124s like this are hard to find in such excellent, original condition. This car is a testament to its first owner of 30 years who cared for it so well.
