A great entry to SL ownership, this R129 SL280 has been looked after very well and covered just 106k miles, backed up by a full service history.

Finished in the classic Mercedes combination of silver with a navy blue hood and interior trim, it comes optioned with rear seats, electric front seats, automatic climate control and heated seats. In addition, it has a desirable Becker Indianapolis stereo fitted.

First registered in January 1996 by Vardy Continental of Cambridge. The registration document shows six keepers in total, the last one being a Mercedes enthusiast for 9 years.

The car comes with all its original books, service book and two keys, and is HPI clear.

MoT until March 2026 with no advisories.

The service file shows the car has been very well looked after with recent invoices for a replacement window regulator, new AC condenser, new front dampers etc. Plus, the new hood is evident. Another bill of note from 2006 (at 88k miles) shows the automatic gearbox was completely rebuilt.

The bodywork is very tidy and, as the photos show, this SL presents very well indeed. The wheels have evidently been refurbished, are in very nice condition and wear matching Khumo tyres. Up close there is some slight bubbling to both front wings and a small scrape to the nearside front bumper.

Inside, it’s in great condition with none of the usual wear to the driver’s seat.

The hood, as we’ve already stated is recent and unmarked, and the original hard top (not photographed) comes with the car too.
